U-M: Priam Laskaris

Personality : 

Overconfident || Loyal || Daring || Rowdy || Flashy || Frivolous

Priam is quite playful, and likes poking fun at people to see their reactions. He gets bored rather easily when he is alone, and usually spends his time finding someone to bother. He doesn't believe in living a quiet life and makes sure no one around him gets to live a quiet life either.

With two male siblings, he's no stranger to having to fight to get what he wants. His philosophy in life is to “JUST DO IT--” any sort of hesitation is a waste of precious time. He’s not afraid of failure and understands that it is sometimes needed to improve. However, until he experiences failure he tends to think very highly of himself and his abilities. His tendency to “just do things” leads to mishaps more often than not, whether it be casting spells or brewing potions. Once he does figure out where his flaws are, he works hard to get rid of them.

History :  

Priam was raised in quite the busy family- he was the second oldest of his two siblings. His parents were both avid travelers in their younger days—both wanted to experience as much of the world as they could before settling down and traveled to various countries after graduating Hogwarts. It was on one of these travels that they had met. They were delighted to meet another person that had the same outlook on life, and after another year of traveling together, they decided to settle down and start a family in London. His father currently works in the Ministry of Magic, and his mother works as a journalist for a local wizard paper.

When Priam saw his older brother receive his Hogwarts letter, he couldn’t help feeling left out even though he knew he still wasn’t of age to attend yet. His parents had long since explained what Hogwarts was since both him and his siblings had exhibited bursts of magic when they were young, and it was always fascinating to see his mother wave her wand to have magic help her along with her housework. He couldn’t wait to actually be able to perform spells, but still had to wait two years before he could join in on the fun.

Attending Hogwarts lived up to everything he expected it to be. It was exciting to meet other witches and wizards but it was even more exciting to finally be able to use magic freely. As a 4th year, he is studying hard for his O.W.L.s since he wants to advance to more difficult classes.

Priam’s parents both have a tolerant view of muggles—despite the tragedy of the Second Witch Trials, they don’t harbor hatred towards all muggles, as they have met muggles on their travels and know that at least some are decent people. However, they do believe justice must be served to those directly involved in the kidnappings, and are protective of their children. Thus, Priam grew up somewhat sheltered from the muggle world. Because of this, Priam is a bit naïve about the issue and doesn’t quite understand why any witch or wizard should be afraid of muggles since they have no magical power. He feels that if a war does break out, the magical world would definitely win, and he would be standing alongside his fellow witches and wizards.
